Several ingredients in this product help shield skin from the sun. But it's the non-nano zinc oxide that takes it to the next level. It adds a thin, opaque layer to the skin and moisturizes while blocking the sun.
- Non-nano = particles are large enough that they do not penetrate the skin surface.
- Maximizes the sun blocking factor and won't end up in your blood stream later.
- Hearing a lot of fuss about sunscreen ingredients? Non-nano zinc oxide has been declared safe for humans and coral reefs.
I had my formula officially tested and it earned both a nice broad spectrum SPF rating and water resistance rating. Unfortunately, sunscreens can only be labelled with these terms if they are manufactured in a certified drug manufacturing facility. These regulated terms are not on my label but you now know the whole story.
Cover clothing, water, snacks and a wide brimmed hat are also wise things to consider bringing on any adventure!
Best if used after 12 months of opening.
Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Non-nano Zinc Oxide Powder, Vermont Beeswax, Organic Essential Oils of Eucalyptus and Rosemary
If you are already burned - go get yourself some some Super Skin Salve.
"... It went on easily, smelled great, and did not at all leave my skin feeling suffocated or greasy. In fact, I forgot to wash it off and I was perfectly fine. I only use sunscreen on my face and since I spend a lot of time outside, I need some protection but hate the way most sunscreens feel (even the all natural ones). The little tin is really convenient too and works for me since I only need face coverage. I used to play around with making salves and things so am pretty fussy when it comes to products, and think you got the formulation for this just right. I forgot to mention it did a great job of protecting my skin!"
